Who are we?

Fortiz Studio is a photography duo based in New York City. The studio was created in 2018 in Havana, Cuba, by self-taught photographer Ofmany Ortiz and creative director Richard Santana. From the beginning, their work grew out of a desire to imagine beauty and fashion within a landscape shaped by necessity, limitation, and poverty.

Growing as artists in Cuba also meant learning how to express ideas in a place where censorship was part of everyday life. That experience shaped their visual language — teaching them to speak through symbolism, restraint, and emotion, and to find creative freedom even within boundaries.

In 2025, they relocated to New York, opening a new chapter in their creative journey. Their photography has since been featured in Vogue Italia’s PhotoVogue, WWD, GQ, Schön! Switzerland, and other international platforms.
